Antique French Red Book Stack

This is a stunning set of five antique French books in red tones. They are "aged to perfection" and will give you an instant "old library" effect.
The perfect original gift for booklovers the world over. They look lovely tied up with twine and displayed on a coffee table, sideboard, mantelpiece, bedside table or dresser. The titles are:
"Grammaire, Cours Supérieur." Claude Augé (c.1900 edition.) This huge book is packed full of French grammar, vocabulary and verb conjugation. It has studies of all the classics, poetry, théatre and letters. It covers everything from the origins of the French language to the history of literature for 11 - 14 year old collège children.

"Cours de Langue Française", cours moyen et supérieur and "Cours de Langue Française", cours élémentaire. C.H Maquet, Léon Flot et L. Roy (1913 & 1923 editions.) Amazing books, packed full of language lessons and exercises, analysis and verb conjugations.

"Grammaire Française, Théorie, 1134 Exercises, 133 Rédactions". Cours primaire. J. Dussouchet (1916 edition.) Published by France's famous Parisian publisher "Librarie Hachette". A gorgeous book of language lessons and exercises, analysis and verb conjugations for 11- 14 year old children.

"Album Poétique Illustré" Choix Varié de Poésies Françaises. B. Oradour (1883 edition.) This is a rare and collectible book, filled with gorgeous illustrations throughout, that are protected by tissue paper sheets. This book has "gold" page edges too!

To display in a bundle, tied with twine, you will need a minimum space of 11cms/ 4¼" high x 19cms/ 7½" long x 13cms/ 5" deep.
They weigh 1.6kgs/ 3.5 lbs.

They are in genuine antique condition, as you can see from the photos. They have been held and read by many, many people who have "thumbed through" them, studied them, ear marked pages, loved, lost and cherished them and they have finally ended up here - looking for a new home and a new adventure. They have also gathered a few pencil marks and names and illustrations inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.

Most importantly they have that "old book smell" reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.
