A set of TEN, Limoges porcelain, hunting plates with a gorgeous '"gilded" edge and border pattern. The perfect gift for anyone who enjoys hunting and cooking their quarry. These plates are smaller than full size dinner plates, designed for game terrines, pâtés and foie gras entrée/ hors d'oeuvre (starter) courses. These exquisite, stylish plates would look wonderful displayed in a hunting lodge / country manor setting.
Each plates measures 17.5cms / 7" diameter. They all have the "Veritable Porcelaine, Emaux de Limoges" mark on the undersides. There are seven different designs, two plates with the Wild Boar, Stag and Partridge designs, One each of the Hare, Pheasant, Deer and Grouse plates. They are beautifully detailed, showing the birds and animals in various landscape settings. The colours and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic. Altogether they weigh 2.4kgs / 5.3 lbs.
They are all in amazing condition, there are no chips, cracks or scratches and there is no visible "wear" to the gilding or motifs.
