This gorgeous, French bronze chandelier is elegant and ornate and will add a touch of "Rococo/Baroque" style to any period home. In excellent vintage condition, the bronze has some signs of natural tarnishing and its patina is darker in some areas than others, giving the look and feel of stylish early 19th century "French Empire" interiors. The rich, glossy gold is sumptuously ornate. It has four fixed arms with sockets for candle-shaped, screw fitting bulbs. Each branch terminates in a decorated bronze drip tray, with the original imitation "dripping" candle covers that slide on and off of the stems easily. The candle drips are in good condition, they have some signs of wear, consistent with years of use.
This light is wired with the original vintage wiring. It is in full working order, the photos show it illuminated, with all the bulbs lit. *Please note that the light bulbs are for display only and will not be dispatched with the light due to the various voltages used around the world.
This light fixes to the ceiling by hanging on a hook (not supplied) the ceiling rose slides up to conceal the hook and wires and the little screw at the side holds it in place. The hanging chain length can be adjusted, according to preference. The drop measures 69cms/ 27" from the ceiling rose to the base (it is 31cms/ 12" long, without the chain.) The ceiling rose is 11cms/ 4¼" diameter. The maximum span across two opposite arms is 42cms/ 16½" wide. It weighs 3.2kgs/ 7 lbs!
